What is Hog Plum?
Hog plum, also called yellow mombin, is a small tangy-sweet fruit common throughout the Caribbean. The bright yellow fruit has a thin skin, juicy flesh, and a large spiny seed. It's a nostalgic childhood fruit for many Caribbean people, often picked wild from roadside trees.
