June Plum Leaf
June plum leaves belong to Spondias dulcis, the tree also known for golden apple or pommecythere fruit. They are different from soursop leaves: graviola and guanabana refer to Annona muricata.
Is june plum leaf the same as graviola?
No. June plum and soursop are different botanical species. A name, recipe or safety statement about one plant should not be transferred to the other. Compare the june plum fruit guide with the soursop fruit guide.
What about leaf tea and remedies?
Eating the fruit does not establish that its leaves, extracts or a prepared tea are safe. This guide does not recommend a dose, preparation method or treatment use for june plum leaves. Traditional use alone does not establish a clinical benefit.
